Ryleigh Warner to wrestle for Dickinson State

When Ryleigh Warner is on the mat she’s all business. It’s a characteristic that most serious athletes can relate to. And now, all that hard work is about to pay off as she prepares to head to Dickinson State in North Dakota to kick off her college career.
Warner has been wrestling for most of her life. Well, nine years anyway. And while she had a handful of prospects she chose to call Dickinson State home for four years primarily due to the fact that it is fairly close to home, somewhat affordable, and she liked the campus.
“It’s really nice – I like it there. And the coaches are nice,” she said at a recent ceremony at the Memorial Gym where she signed her letter committing to Dickinson State.
Reflecting on the journey, she contributes much of her success to the support of her mother and late Butte coach, Noah McEwen, who helped her enter her first major competition.
Ultimately, however, the priority is her college education. Warner received a scholarship from Dickinson State allowing her to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
