Donald Raymond Zarr passed away suddenly December 10th 2024 in Billings MT. he was born May 21st 1957 to August and Tillie Zarr of Anaconda MT. He attended schools in Anaconda, graduating in 1975, joining the Navy right out of high school. He visited many interesting Ports-of-call while overseas and was Honorably Discharged. He used his G.I. Bill to help pay for college at MSU Billings earning a Bachelors degree in Psychology. He worked many jobs but his favorite was at the Yellowstone County Youth Detention Center where he was employed until his retirement in 2019.
Don was a member of St. Patrick’s Co Cathederal where he was a very active member helping at various homeless shelters. His Faith and Love of God sustained him in good times and in bad.
Don is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed by Family and Friends. His infectious laugh, unique sense of humor, kindness and concern for everyone made Don the wonderful man he was. He always dreamed of hitting the “Big One” at the casino’s but never quite got there.
Don is survived by siblings Gerald (Lucy) Zarr of White Sulpher Springs, MT., Connie (Ken) Boyer Anaconda, MT., Robert Zarr Lebanon, Oregon, Roberta (Sean) Curran, Deer Lodge, MT., Twin brother Dan (Debbie) Zarr, Anaconda, MT. and Dennis Zarr of Santa Anna, California, with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Neices, Nephews and business partner Teresa Rosetto of Billings.
Don was preceded in death by infant Brother Ricky, his Parents, Grandparents, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nephew Wayne Boyer.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Dons Life will be held May 21st at 10:30 at Holy Family Church, Anaconda, MT.. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at New Hill Cemetary Veterans Section. There will be a gathering afterward at Holy Families /Hunthousen Center.
Though our hearts are broken, Don might say: “Don’t cry for me I’m alright, I’m better than you know. Just hold on to those moments and the memories we shared, we’re all headed for the same place anyway, I just beat you there!”
